In its holiday advertising campaign, Google Pixel decided to recreate several scenes from the film to reach customers during this pre-holiday season. They invited actors from the iconic film: Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who played the lovesick Sam, and Martine McCutcheon (Natalie). It’s charming, atmospheric, and a bit nostalgic. The streaming platform Disney+ proves it can be done and presents a story that unfolds over the years. From childhood and fascination with Mickey Mouse's adventures, through adolescence and starting a family, all set against the backdrop of Disney's most beautiful animations and series. It tugs at the heartstrings, not just for movie fans. Over 100,000 people follow us on LinkedIn. Are you with us? Follow Over 100,000 people follow us on LinkedIn. Are you with us? The telecommunications company Telstra, in collaboration with the agency Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, created an animated story about loneliness, finding one’s place, and the idea that Christmas is a time to feel good. It’s also an unusual tale of friendship that can blossom across divides. In marketing, the team always wins. Why is Studio PLAC transforming into PLAC360? ## Disney: "Best Christmas Ever" Disney once again teams up with Taika Waititi, director of "Jojo Rabbit" and "Green Lantern," to present a short film about an extraordinary friendship. Following last year's success of "The Boy and the Octopus," it’s now time for a story driven by belief in childhood dreams. Is a connection between a little girl and a colorful creature straight out of drawings possible? Disney convinces us it is – and not just for the holidays. This is the premise IKEA used to create this year's Christmas advertisement. The story revolves around family, the iconic Billy shelf, and spending time together. We have someone who is developing marketing in Poland. Are you reading? Grow We have someone who is developing marketing in Poland. Are you reading? Grow We have someone who is developing marketing in Poland. Are you reading? Thousands of British families spend the holidays in uncertain conditions, far from their true homes. The Shelter foundation draws attention to this issue, using Bonnie Tyler's hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart." The well-known song becomes a cry for help from the heroes of the clip and many similar residents of shelters for those in crisis. "Earworm" is an example of a campaign that, during this most beautiful time of the year, tugs at the heartstrings and focuses on a real social problem. ## Walgreens: "Holiday Road" Do successful holidays have to be perfect? No! And that’s exactly what Walgreens' latest holiday campaign conveys. Christmas chaos, tangled lights, sudden illness… that’s just the beginning of family mishaps. Walgreens shopping will help with it all! The clip is a clear reference to the music video for the song "Holiday Road" from the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983). ## Dunkin’ Donuts: "The Little Holiday Munchkin" Sometimes the smallest crumb is the best, and that’s what Dunkin’ Donuts’ holiday advertisement conveys. It’s colorful, humorous, and above all sweet, as befits a chain specializing in donuts. This one-minute clip is a short but warm story, perfect for Christmas. ## PETA: "Happy Christmas" Not every holiday advertisement has to be filled with the joy of family atmosphere. This is what PETA proves in its Christmas clip, drawing attention to human cruelty towards animals. An apparently ordinary conversation at the holiday table turns out to be an unusual manifestation of the pro-animal organization regarding the excessive consumption of meat by modern society, especially during the holidays. It leaves a lasting impression and prompts reflection. ## Heinz: "True Love Waits" Does "If you love, you will wait"? Heinz proves that it does. The short, humorous advertisement shows a family waiting at the table for the last guest. When the long-awaited doorbell finally rings, the joy is endless. But is it really about the loved ones? Or perhaps about… ketchup? ## Chelsea FC: "The Magic of Blue" One of the best English football clubs addresses loneliness among the English and encourages everyone to be together during the holidays. The clip features both professional Chelsea players and young football trainees, as well as older fans of the sport. The common goal is to show that together means better. ## LEGO: "If It’s Play You’re Looking For?" In LEGO's holiday campaign, the question is asked: "Hello, is it play you’re looking for?" In other words – are you looking for fun? If so, the famous bricks will provide you with plenty of it, while also creating an opportunity to spend time with loved ones. With such a hit in the background and a product of international fame, this advertisement was bound to succeed. ## Cartier: "A Magical Night in 13 Paix" What happens in an exclusive jewelry salon when no one is watching? This question is answered in Cartier's holiday clip. A fairy tale about how ## Verizon: "Don’t Be a Stranger" What does a mom do when she can’t get her son to reply to her messages or answer her calls? Maybe she loudly comments on her teenage child's favorite shows. Briefly, with a wink, and with a clear reference to the latest season of the cult classic "Stranger Things" – this is how Verizon promotes its holiday offer. ## Tesco: "That’s What Makes It Christmas" Different families, different stories, but they all share one thing: the uniqueness of the holidays. This strategy was adopted by the Tesco supermarket chain in the UK. A series of short clips aired since mid-November on British television aims to remind island residents that everyone can feel at home here. Regardless of their story, skin color, or accent. ## Telia: "Don’t Miss Out On Christmas" What if your phone suddenly stopped working? And you had to spend the upcoming holidays with your loved ones? Telia convinces us that it’s more fun than we think and tells a Christmas story from the perspective of a young boy. The message is simple but important: "Don’t miss out on Christmas." Because with technology at your fingertips, it can happen faster than we think. ## Waitrose: "The Perfect Gift" Keira Knightley and Joe Wilkinson appeared in this year’s advertisement for the Waitrose supermarket chain. And they immediately referenced the iconic film "Love Actually" from 2003. A long video clip, or rather a short romantic comedy about an ordinary man who falls in love with a celebrity, sounds like a new version of "Notting Hill," yet (again) it works. It’s charming, humorous, and very festive. ## Asda: "A Very Merry Grinchmas" Supermarkets Asda prove that this Christmas you can impress even the Grinch. This green creature, well-known from the all-time Christmas hit, hated Christmas more than anything in the world. In Asda's Christmas advertisement, it shows that thanks to low prices, even the Grinch can change his attitude towards the most beautiful time of the year. ## Heathrow: "Must be Love" Among the most beautiful Christmas advertisements this year is one created by London’s Heathrow Airport. Doris and Edward Baira, known in the UK as the Bears, embark on another special journey. The charming couple first appeared in the airport's campaign in 2016, and today they jointly convince us that "The best journeys start here [at Heathrow]." ## M&S Food: "Traffic Jamming" Has anyone of us never been stuck in an endless traffic jam trying to get home for the holidays? The heroine of the Marks & Spencer Food Christmas advertisement knows well that such a situation is a source of considerable stress. However, thanks to a fairy and a truck full of food from M&S Food, it turns out that the most beautiful holidays are those spent together. And the place doesn’t really matter. ## Etsy: "Little Drummer Boy" You can’t win with true passion, but you can help it grow. This is the message conveyed by the Christmas advertisement of the international handmade sales platform Etsy. The story of a young boy who dreams of being part of the school orchestra and playing the drums is an inspiring clip. Perhaps thanks to it, you too will come up with an idea for a gift for your loved ones that will help them fulfill their dreams? ## Aldi: "Love Is All Around" This advertisement from Aldi combines charming animation, a story that concludes a multi-chapter tale, and a catchy tune. In an unusual way, the brand presents its holiday products while inviting viewers to the (long-awaited by many) wedding of Kevin the Carrot. Although it may seem a bit childish at first glance, Aldi's advertisement fits perfectly into the Christmas spirit, where anything is possible. ## Barbour: "Wallace & Gromit" Here’s another advertisement from the clothing brand Barbour, featuring Wallace and Gromit. The friends known from both small and big screens must face a rebellion of machines this season, all due to Wallace’s new idea. How will this story end? One thing is for sure: with successful gifts, all thanks to Barbour. ## Apple: "A Critter Carol" While many companies today opt for advertising campaigns using AI, Apple decided to go against this trend and return to handcrafting elements of the advertisement. Thus was born "A Critter Carol," a story about what happens when nature meets technology. ## L’Occitane’s: "The Light Catcher" The iconic luxury cosmetics brand L’Occitane’s presents a holiday campaign inspired by light. In the video clip, contributed to by Polish photographer Marcin Kempski, the characteristic yellow boxes of the brand's Christmas collection become a pretext to showcase various types of light: from sunlight, through moonlight, to the twinkling light in the mirror. This unusual holiday advertisement makes it hard to look away! ## Galp: "The energy of Christmas never goes out" The well-known children's song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and the theme of decorating the Christmas tree with family. Is anything more needed for a heartwarming holiday advertisement? The Portuguese energy company Galp proves that no, and shows that to demonstrate the strength of tradition, it takes just 100 seconds. Nothing groundbreaking, yet it somewhat resembles the much-anticipated Allegro advertisements, doesn’t it? ## Walkers: "A wee bit of Scotland that’s come a long way" There’s no Scotland without two elements: sweet, crumbly shortbread and Andy Murray. At least that’s the assumption made by the creators of the campaign "A wee bit of Scotland that’s come a long way," promoting the famous sweets in a Christmas version. However, these efforts include not only a short video clip but also the launch of an entirely new website of the same name. Essential ingredients for Christmas in Scotland? Walker’s sweets, Andy Murray, and… a Christmas-patterned sweater. ## IGA: "The Holiday Legend" Traditions will survive only if we share them. This moral is conveyed in the advertisement of the IGA supermarket chain, which this year opted for a fairy-tale style. Meet the story of Carole, who has been cooking for her loved ones for years. May this year's holidays be as atmospheric as the clip directed by Sid Lee. ## Publix: "Merry Birthday" If you were born on December 25, you know that your birthday celebrations will never be ordinary. For many, birthdays on this day mean competing with Santa Claus, the Christmas tree, and carols, and the number of presents each year seems to be less than it could be. In the Christmas advertisement "Merry Birthday," Publix acknowledges all holiday birthday celebrants, showing what birthdays on December 25 would look like without the Christmas atmosphere. ## Allegro: "Here and Now" In the highly anticipated advertisement, Allegro this year tells the story of how important it is to be here and now. Set in the world of a child's imagination, the story is built around the relationship between a father and daughter. The longing for an absent parent prompts the girl to escape into an imaginary world. Only the Christmas surprise prepared by dad with Allegro's help brings true joy to the little heroine's heart. ## ALDI: Christmas-flavored wrapping paper The ALDI supermarket chain in the UK invites you to taste the holidays together. And literally, because in a special contest, you can win limited-edition wrapping paper flavored like the famous "pigs in blankets." Small sausages wrapped in bacon are a true delicacy in Ireland and the UK, landing on Christmas tables every year. Collectible rolls of this unique wrapping paper can be won by participating in the contest. The solution will be ready before Christmas to ensure you can wrap your gifts! ## McDonald’s Netherlands: "The Most Terrible Time of the Year" McDonald’s in the Netherlands has opted for artificial intelligence this year. The creators of the holiday advertisement, the agency Sweetshop, emphasize, however, that it is much more than just an "AI experiment." The clip is full of humor, as the entire story is simply a collection of gags, with one of us becoming the hero during the holidays. A tree that’s too big to fit in the living room? Problems with hanging lights on the house? Arguments over gifts? Each of these problems can be solved with a visit to McDonald’s! ## Orange: "Whatever Your Christmas, Orange Is Here" This year, the mobile network Orange in France has opted for a holiday advertisement that celebrates being together. Problems with a broken phone? Car troubles? The risk of cyberattacks? No matter what you encounter this Christmas, because with Orange's services, you will always stay in touch with your loved ones. ## Save The Children: "The One Delivery that Matters" The organization supporting the youngest, Save The Children, along with Ace The Hearts, focuses in its international campaign on what matters most: ensuring children have access to food, medicine, and safety. At a time when for many of us, the most important deliveries are those from couriers, many forget that in the UK, 1 in 3 children lives in poverty. This nostalgic campaign aims to remind us and prompt reflection on what the holidays should be filled with. ## Dr Oetker and the adventures of the gingerbread man "Just not my icing buttons!" – if you remember this line, you will surely enjoy Dr. Oetker's holiday advertisement. The idea is simple yet effective: the company opted for stop-motion animation to tell the story of the gingerbread man. A theme seemingly known for years, yet thanks to the vibrant colors and simplicity of the message, it still brings a smile to the face. ## Deposit Return Scheme: "Return" The Irish organization Deposit Return Scheme celebrates not only Christmas traditions but also eco-friendly behaviors in its holiday spot. The story of a boy who uses his free time between holiday events to collect recyclable packaging at home is an interesting metaphor and a new dimension of doing good during this magical time. ## Toyota: "The Holiday Job" Coming up with, buying, and hiding Christmas gifts for loved ones is no small feat! The marketing team at Toyota knows this well, which is why this year’s holiday advertisement is based on this theme. Various models of the Japanese brand's cars are cleverly woven into the Christmas story, making the spot fit perfectly into the pre-holiday time and the accompanying emotions. ## O Boticário: "Words leave marks – let them be of love" The Brazilian cosmetics company in its holiday advertisement focuses on speaking about empathy and the impact of our words on relationships with loved ones. Thus was born a five-minute spot that reminds us that what we say leaves marks on the recipients. If the key to marketing success is the right choice of theme for the moment, the brand O Boticário hit the nail on the head. ## Airalo: "Wish We’d Packed the Internet" Christmas for many of us means traveling. Some visit loved ones just a few streets away, but others have to travel hundreds of kilometers, sometimes even changing continents. The spot "Wish We’d Packed the Internet" humorously shows what traveling looks like without access to mobile internet. With humor, because laughter is the best remedy for the holiday chaos. ## JakDojade: "How good it is that you are here" The holiday spot JakDojade is an extension of the autumn campaign of the brand. This time, the heart of the story is a gathering of friends who celebrate the upcoming holidays together. Only the arrival of the last one completes this magical time and allows for true enjoyment of the closeness of those who are most important to us. ## PS The most interesting Christmas advertisements of 2024 [REVIEW]
