Apple's Foldable iPhone: A High-Priced Masterpiece Expected to Sell Like Hotcakes
Apple's much-anticipated foldable iPhone could be the most expensive smartphone yet, with a price tag of almost $2500. Despite the high cost, experts predict it will sell phenomenally well.
Foldable smartphones have become almost a standard in the offerings of most leading electronics manufacturers. Despite the prevalence of this technology, it still grapples with significant limitations. The most serious is the visible fold on the display, which is noticeable and can be felt in the hinge area when the device is unfolded. Apple, however, has yet to join the race for the best foldable phone, primarily due to the aesthetics of current solutions. Despite this, the Cupertino giant is actively working on eliminating the fold problem, seeking innovative technical solutions and partners who can provide the necessary components. The reality, however, is more complex - even Samsung, considered a pioneer of the segment and a close Apple partner in display matters, has not been able to completely eliminate the visible imperfection in its flagship foldables. Apple sets the bar and requirements very high, aiming to eliminate all imperfections, regardless of production costs. A key factor was supposed to be close collaboration with Samsung, which is to be the supplier of screens and hinges for Apple devices, and the American company Amphenol, with which the Cupertino giant has been working for years (it supplies, among other things, hinges for MacBooks). A few months ago, leaks suggested that the foldable iPhone is to be equipped with a 7.8-inch internal screen and a 5.5-inch external one. Interestingly, such an iPhone will not have a full-fledged Face ID and its unlocking will be handled by Touch ID located in the power button - as is currently the case with some iPad models. The foldable iPhone is to have onboard proprietary systems responsible for cellular connectivity and will not have a SIM card slot. ## Foldable iPhone for 12000 zł? Who will pay for that? Now there are further reports about this model, which could go on sale next fall. And it's about its price. According to information provided by CNET, it can knock you off your feet. The foldable iPhone is supposed to cost almost 2500 dollars. That's 500 dollars more than the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the 2 TB configuration, making the foldable with the bitten apple logo the most expensive smartphone in Apple's offer, which in Poland costs 10299 zł (with taxes). This device will also be significantly more expensive than what Samsung served us on the occasion of the premiere of the first foldable. The Samsung Galaxy Fold, debuting in 2019, cost 1980 dollars in the United States. The Galaxy Fold 7, which premiered this year, costs 8799 zł in Poland. If we assume that the analysts' assumptions will come true, the foldable iPhone will cost more than 12,000 zł in our country. I don't know if it will be of interest to potential users at this price. It is also unknown whether it will hit our market at all. Poles are still waiting for the premiere of the Apple Vision Pro glasses, which in October this year received a newer version with the M5 system, but are still not available for purchase in our country.
